Now the Affiliates section is also completed, we've added our first affiliate (besides sister site The Sims Zone). Planet Spore is the first of our affiliates. They too cover Spore, with news and more. Pay them a visit!
Last week we already mentioned that Spore was nominated four times for a Best of E3 Game Critic Award. In all four categories (Best of Show, Best Original Game, Best PC Game and Best Simulation Game) the game, that wasn't shown on the floor but behind closed doors only, won the award. That means Spore already has four awards even before an official announcement by EA. Editors of Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly, IGN and Game-Revolution all wrote a little piece about the game on the winners page, where you can see an overview of winners in all categories. Of all games, Spore has won the most awards, followed by the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which got two. The total number of awards for EA is seven, followed by Nintendo with three. Spore also brings the number of PC awards to nine, whereas the PS2 got four. More of those statistics can be seen on the statistics page.
Near the end of May, after the E3, GamingSteve posted the first part of Steve's interview with Will Wright about Spore. In the latest podcast, Steve has put the second (and last) part of the interview. A transcript is now up as well, which can be read on the podcast page.
Several sites have grabbed in-game shots of Spore from the Game Developers Conference video posted earlier. Among those are our affliate Planet Spore, SnootySpore and SP Zone. However, blog InsertCoin has posted a shot which shows what looks like the texture editor. You can see it below, as well as in our screenshots gallery.
